In order to promote homemade items prepared by self-help groups, the RDA� will package and brand such products which will then be sold in supermarkets across Goa.

RDA’s nodal officer Bhaskar Narulkar, who was at the exhibition of homemade products by self-help groups at Parra, said that the RDA is in touch with supermarkets like Big Bazaar, Delfino’s, Bardez Bazaar for the sale of items like gram masala, xacuti masala, boiled rice, cereals grown locally by farmers and women self-help groups.

Speaking further, he said that the RDA also helps women self-help groups financially by offering loan of up to Rs one lakh.

RDA is also planning to get 4 vehicles that will transport the homemade products of self-help groups to markets all over Goa.

Parra sarpanch Delilah Lobo, who spoke on the occasion, appealed to the villagers to visit the stalls and buy homemade items.

Lata Naik said that “local women possess a lot of talent but lack proper space to make homemade items,†and added that “RDA helps such women by giving them training and even marketing the products and even offer financial help. This is the first time that the exhibition is held at Parra.â€
